Canon has again revolutionized the photographic landscape with the latest incarnation of their Digital Rebel line, the Canon Digital Rebel XSi (aka EOS 450D or Kiss 450D depending on your location). The 450D is a very compact, yet full featured Digital SLR camera, now with Live View and a new 12MP sensor, and its modest price tag keeps affordable, quality digital photography within the reach of hobbyist and serious amateur alike.
Like previous cameras in the Digital Rebel line this new camera is still small despite the new 3" LCD screen, only 5.1 x 3.8 x 2.4 in./128.8 x 97.5 x 61.9mm and weighing in at, only 16.8 oz./ 475g (body only). This makes the Rebel XSi the perfect choice for the compact digital user who wants to continue to use live view and who is wanting to move up to a SLR camera, but has been reluctant to do so due to the size and weight of traditional SLR cameras and housings.
