The Sony HDR-SR11 (60GB), along with its identical sibling camcorder the HDR-SR12 (120GB) are the company’s third generation AVCHD camcorder recording to hard disk drive (HDD). Both feature a new CMOS sensor and DSP touted by Sony to be the best yet, along with huge hard drive capacity. The low light performance is excellent – far superior in noise reduction to the Sony HDR-HC9, its HDV cousin, making this the camcorder to own in 2008.

Ultra compact, lightweight body

The Seatool SR11/SR12 underwater housing for the Sony HDV Handycam HDR-SR11/SR12 is machined from pure, solid blocks of aluminum and polycarbonate. The end result of this meticulous attention to detail is one of the smallest, lightest underwater video housings ever produced. This housing features rugged aluminum construction yet only weighs 1.5kg. Small and light enough to hand carry on aircraft, it's the perfect tool for the travelling diver faced with strict airline weight restrictions. Because the housing body conforms so closely to the camera, the housing attains nearly neutral buoyancy (slightly negative) for effortless underwaterhandling handling.

3-positon adjustable position remote control grip standard on all models

The grip angle can be adjusted between three positions to adapt to any diving style or shooting situation.

The thoughtful design enables setting the grip in the horizontal position, making a nice trim, compact package, when transporting. All controls are easily accessed while holding the grip which makes steady, stable footage a snap.

Underwater attachment lens ready
To complement our multi-coated glass lens, our New 'ST' bayonet lens mount accepts the 15mm wide angle lens from Fisheye, and adapts the popular 67mm threaded mount lenses from Inon, Epoque, and Ikelte to a quick mount/release bayonet fitting which can be mounted to and removed from the housing (while underwater) with just a twist of the wrist. Choose from underwater mountable fisheye, 100-degree wide angle or close-up lenses, to match any imaging situation.

Standard flip-type internal color filter

The Seatool SR11/SR12 is fitted with an internal color correcting orange filter. The filter is installed inside the housing, in front of camera lens where it cannot be scratched. Flip a single lever to move the filter over or away from lens.

Multi-coated optical glass port
The multi-coated optical glass port is optically superior, controls flare, and resists scratching.

Extended Case for High Capacity Battery

The SR11/SR12 housing from Seatool offers an extended case assembly which allows the use of the Sony NP-FH100 battery pack. Note: The extended case FH-100 limits the functionality of the camera's optical viewfinder.

Accessory port
The accessory port allows attaching an external LCD monitor or audio input from an underwater communications system.

Accessory shoe
The SR11/SR12 housing features a multi-purpose accessory shoe on top of the housing. Add an optional FIX Rotary Hot Shoe Base, and a FIX Light, for an easy to handle, compact lighting system.

Recording indicator / Leak sensor lamp
The recording indicator and leak sensor lamp are easily visible on remote control panel, protecting against unintentional recording or informing you immediately of water leakage.
